The Mosey team wants to collectively make dramatic changes in a positive direction for the entire world. Its approach to business, and everything they do, is made in this "light". Its practices and standards are companywide and each office shares responsibility for vetting its partners and monitoring for compliance.The primary textile used in its collection is called PET fabric and it is derived from type "#1" recyclable plastic. The main source of this plastic is everyday water and beverage bottles - one of the world’s most common types of consumer packaging. The manufacture of PET fabrics requires a fully integrated supply chain from bottle collection to chip processing to reconstituting the yarn and final fabric production. The latest recycled PET fabrics are known for their durability, light weight, and comfort. Overall fabric performance is similar to (petroleum based) polyester and nylon.Leather has been used to make shoes, clothing and bags for, literally, thousands of years and treating leather evolved from using naturally occurring minerals like salt and lime to an industrialized process combining high energy consumption and chemical usage while throwing off large amounts of CO2 emissions. Mosey’s leather comes from a sophisticated supplier that has transformed the tanning process through the use of alternative and renewable sources of energy, specialized equipment, recycling, and the latest available technology in leather manufacturing. This supplier works with some of the most forward thinking consumer products makers in the world and while there are many other, lower cost options, Mosey decided that this leather, from this supplier, was in keeping with its company values.Mosey is very picky about the metal components and plating processes used to create its proprietary hardware - in fact, every metal part on its bags has been custom-made to Mosey’s exact specifications. Mosey has a "lead free and nickel free" policy for all metal parts and it conducts ongoing and random lab tests, using SGS Laboratories, on all of its metal parts. Based on the highest international testing standards (established by the EU), you can be absolutely sure its metal parts never contain chemical residues or other potentially toxic substances.As for the "little things"...Mosey uses low impact printing, and recycled paper wherever possible.
