Born in San Diego, California and later moving to Austin, Texas, Marnie was already an innovative entrepreneurial selling beauty products from her family's successful distribution business. The original design concept was inspired by the need to have a stylish tote to carry her products to
a high end fashion event. "I wanted to look chic and original without
having to carry a known label or a tacky product bag." Not finding the
perfect carryall tote and fueled by the creative climate in Austin, Marnie
decided to invest her time and energy in making it herself. Once her dream bag was carefully hand stitched, she decided to sew a lady bug ribbon on the side to give it a designer look...Marnie Bugs was born that night at the fashion event when her bag had more demand and attention from fashionistas than the products she was promoting.

In 2005, Marine's passion for making bags encouraged her to extend her self-taught skills to training local craftsmen to develop her own factory in Texas. While her new operation was making bags, Marnie started to travel nationally selling her collection from door to door in
the hottest retail streets of New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Texas.

Today, Marnie Bugs has developed a cult-like following. The collection has evolved into a high quality array of chic and durable silhouettes made of the richest Italian leathers and the production has moved to one of the most reputable world class factories in California.
