Ananas designer Jennifer Baum Lagdameo started the company three years ago after being inspired to design by living in the Philippines. Her formal background is in Art History, which gave her an eye to see the beauty around her in everyday life in exotic places. Jennifer had always collected purses, but after finding that the handbags offered in the market where she lived in Manila did not always suit her needs, she began to take a closer look at the bags themselves. She tore
them apart to see how they were made and started designing and selling her first bags from her husband's aunt's dress shop in Manila.

Jennifer loves creating her designs and trying to strike a balance between urban and earthy. She currently draws inspiration from vintage finds, her travels, and her imagination. Ananas' leather handbags are truly set apart from other designers in the unique use of natural wood as hardware. Targeting consumers who are fashionable but not too trendy, Ananas is for women who want a handbag that is understated and special. Jennifer currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area, and her greatest achievement to date is "my kid."
